What it means in practice
Generative AI is an extremely fast assistant who has read the entire library. It does not just tell you where the information sits (as a search engine does), it turns that information into a finished document. Say “Draft me a car rental contract based on this paragraph” and it writes it. The best-known example is ChatGPT.
Why companies need to know this
- More content in less time. Replies to customers, client proposals, website copy and social posts take a fraction of the time.
- Faster operations. Instead of studying a 50-page PDF, you have its key points for management in seconds.
- Scaling without hiring. A company can handle three times the enquiries with the same people in the office.
An example from practice
An e-commerce company was struggling with generic marketing: the same emails to the entire database, which was not working. We deployed generative AI to build an interactive quiz on their website. From the visitor’s answers, the AI generates personalised copy for the follow-up campaigns. Instead of a dull newsletter, customers get content made for them, and the company did not have to hire more copywriters.
In our company AI workshops we teach how to turn generative AI from a toy that writes poems into a real working tool for your team.
